Here are the steps to follow to enable Microsoft Silverlight (and NPAPI plug-ins) in the latest version of Chrome:
- In Content Raven, you select a document to view and you receive an 'Install Silverlight" prompt from Content Raven:
- If you follow the link to install Silverlight, you will receive a message from Silverlight stating that Silverlight is already installed. Close out of your Content Raven browser tab.
- In Chrome Browser, if you open a new tab and type in chrome://plugins in the address bar and hit enter, a listing of all of your Plug-ins will display. You will not see Silverlight (or any NPAPI plug-in) listed. This is because Chrome has disabled them by Default.
- Open a new Tab in Chrome and type in the following in your address bar and hit return: chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
You will see Enable NPAPI highlighted in Yellow. Click enable to enable your NPAPI plug-ins.
After Selecting "Enable NPAPI, you will see a button to Re-launch Chrome. Changes will not take effect until you re-launch Chrome.
When Chrome re-launches you will now see Silverlight listed and enabled in your Chrome Plug-ins. (go back to your chrome://plugins browser tab.)
Silverlight is now Enabled in your Chrome Browser.
Go Back to cloud.contentraven.com and re-launch the document and it will successfully launch in your Chrome Browser.
